Making Jerusalem's Old City Accessible for All

Through a 10 year process and partnership across multiple government agencies the Old City in Jerusalem is now more accessible than ever. Now, there is greater accessibility for pedestrians, carriages, vehicles, children and tourists as well as to emergency vehicles and mobility aids.

All the Old City gates are accessible and can be reached via the Free P&R Shuttle running from the First Station parking lot to the Dung Gate and back daily (including an hourly wheelchair-accessible shuttle).

We’re glad to see this major accomplishment within an ancient city come to fruition. It is a true achievement within and around the Old City. We look forward to assisting you on your next Israel Journey to find the best solutions for travel no matter what your needs may be.
